My name is Kali Concepcion and I attend FSU as a Retail Merchandising and Product Development student. I am so excited to be writing my first STYLE GURU BIO for CollegeFashionista! This summer I’m going to be living in Los Angeles interning, and I absolutely cannot wait to wander the streets of The Fashion District or UCLA and spot interesting and fashionable interviewees for the FASHIONISTA/O SPOTLIGHT every Wednesday.
I’ve always had a passion for expressing myself through this outlet. I remember each milestone of my life by how I dressed at the moment. Whether it was my “punk” stage at 14-years-old or my “boho chic” phase at 15, I was always at some extreme side of the spectrum. I’ve finally reached a more refined and neutral wardrobe and am ready to begin immersing myself in the fast paced and sharp world of fashion!
Like I explained, my style is constantly evolving. I’ve taken bits and pieces from all my phases and brought them together to form my style today. And I literally mean just today—I get bored so easily my hair color has changed more times than I can count and ASOS is probably over my quickly induced obsessions that result in me being ready to return an item before it even arrives. One thing I can stick to, though, is my close relationship with the color black and a little bit of grunge. You can usually find me in my Topshop Chelsea boots and Ray-Bans; I’m obsessed with my black harem pants from American Apparel and more recently I’ve been loving my striped crop top and trench from NASTY GAL.
This summer I’ll be immersing myself in the Los Angeles lifestyle and am really looking forward to returning to Tallahassee in the fall with new inspiration and style! I’m so excited to show everyone on CollegeFashionista what and who inspires me through my posts and can’t wait to interview all the stylish and different people I’m going to meet along the way.
