It’s always a pleasure strolling the stylish FIDM campus. I experience every spectrum of style from the laid-back fashion students relaxing in the grass, to the others who are often fierce amazon women always ready for a photo op. This Fashionista definitely falls in the second category; I couldn’t help but spot her effortlessly unique look from about a block away. She is wearing a black and white striped maxi dress with a black blazer and strappy black wedges, paired with a leather purse, multiple rings and the perfect red lip. If you’re in need of some inspiration to become a little more adventurous and confident in your wardrobe, take this Fashionista’s advice below.

Name: Paige Patton

Major: Merchandise Marketing

Year: Freshman

CollegeFashionista: What are you wearing and who is it from?

Paige Patton: My bag is Michael Kors, of course. My dress is from a boutique, my shoes are from a boutique, my blazer is from BCBG and my rings are from Nordstrom. The best place to find midi rings is Venice Beach though. They have real gold ones for ten dollars.

CF: Where do you usually shop?

PP: Everywhere actually! I pick pieces from everywhere. I don’t have one favorite store.

CF: How would you describe your style?

PP: I don’t know… adventurous? And edgy; just unique, mostly.

CF: Is there anything specific that inspires your style?

PP: I used to always dress edgy, but then when Rhianna came out with her style, it was just like, okay. Definitely her. I like how she takes risks.

CF: What’s your favorite item in your closet?

PP: That’s hard. I guess my Sam Edelman shoes. They’re wedges with spikes on them.

CF: What’s a fashion faux pas in your opinion?

PP: I don’t believe in that! I wear everything. I wear crazy stuff; people say crazy things about me cause I just wear anything. I actually like to try stuff people don’t like, you know? Then people want to start liking it, like braids.

How To: To make this Fashionista’s look your own, start off with an edgy statement piece like this dress. Bring your outfit back to business with a unique blazer, paired with some wedges. Don’t forget your jewelry and a bold lip!
